Interior light and turntable failed at the same moment. Stacey B. • New Bern , NC • February 01, 2021
Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch.
Since I had to change out the most likely of the 3 and since I was already was going to be into the switch panel I ordered all 3 and swapped them all out to cover my butt, as they were...

Didn't heat. Harry W. • Maple Park , IL • January 21, 2018
My son told me that almost all the microwave ovens that came into the repair center he worked at, 15 years ago, had a defective magnetron. I ordered a magnetron, and sat back until one shipped. The one that came, the first time, was in a small factory cardboard box, which was in a large bubble-pak Fedex envelope; which didn't show any signs of abuse. Inside, however, the factory box was beat up. Removing the magnetron, I noticed that the socket, as well as its' pins, was bent, and loose in the...

Lg microwave door would not latch closed Audrey S. • Rochester , NY • February 05, 2018
Ordered door latch part and new spring.
You Tube video helped me identify what I needed. I tried the fix recommended and it didn't work so I ordered the parts. It took less than 5 minutes to switch out the old for the new. If the door doesn't latch, you can't run the microwave and it's key. It wasn't an expensive or hard fix to get my microwave up and running again. So pleased with AppliancePartsPros for having what I needed and being reasonable about pricing. Turnaround time was excellent!

This door latch assembly engages the interlock switches when the microwave door closes, keeping the door securely shut. Replacing a worn latch restores safe door engagement and allows the oven to operate only when properly closed.
- Hooks into the cabinet strike to hold the door closed
- Actuates the interlock switches to permit heating
- Helps resolve: door won't latch or stay shut, "Door/Open" error messages, unit won't start unless the door is pressed
- Replaces a visibly cracked, worn, or broken latch
What's included: 1 door latch assembly Install notes:
- Unplug the microwave before servicing; microwaves contain high-voltage components—work only on the door, not inside the cabinet
- Remove the inner door trim to access the latch; note orientation and transfer any clips/hardware as found
- Inspect the door strike and hinges for wear; misalignment can prevent proper latching
- After reassembly, verify smooth door closure and that the oven will not run with the door open
