I sent an e-mail to customer service and explained to them that I had lifted the Amana cooktop from the counter and it appeared to be a sealed unit. First I ordered spark igniters but was unable to remove screw securing them. So decided to replace whole burner. Item went in well. It does work but takes a bit to ignite. I'm thinking in might need to replace screws, rusted, for better ground. It's odd that when burner is warm we have no problem with ignition. Hoping new screws will solve it. Read more
Identified replacement through photos with 1-inch grid to find proper size. Removed burner knows and cover panel, removed old steel insert from switch shaft with pliers, reassembled cover panel and knobs including fan switch knob, steel insert of which slipped onto shaft. Read more
