The Gas Oven Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges and ovens. It uses electricity to generate a spark that ignites the burner flames for heating. To check if the ignitor is the issue, look inside the broiler oven while the oven is turned on. If the element is glowing a bright red, it's getting power. If not, it may not be getting enough power to ignite the gas and should be replaced.
Symptoms of a bad gas ignitor can include:
Causes stem from normal wear with extended use. The ignitor's ability to spark diminishes as parts degrade. No spark means no gas ignition.
This OEM replacement part is compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore brands.
My Kenmore 790.74139310 gas range was taking over 30 minutes to reach 350F. It used to take a little less than 10 minutes. The problem was the ignitor for the lower gas burner. It would glow but not pass sufficient current to increase the gas flow to the lower burner. Once at temperature, there is of course loss of heat when loading the oven with room temperature food. This took too long to recover, so we did not have proper temperature for proper cooking for the first 30 to 40 minutes. Food... Read more
Fix F10 error codes or inaccurate oven temperatures with a new sensor probe. Common fix for ovens that overheat or won't reach set temp. Easy DIY repair.
After I came from from work, my wife told me about the problem. I quickly began to research the code F10 which according to the paper in the pouch behind my range said it needed a new temperature control sensor and that should fix it. It also said that if that doesn't fix the problem that I'd have to replace the circuit board which probably got fried due to the runaway temperature. So, I decided to just order the temperature sensor part# AP3963654 for $25.63 plus shipping. I ordered the part at... Read more

Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. It would have been except the bottom element my wife used to replace the old element (which was fine but had been thrown out figuring the new one was new so why keep the old one) was 1" shorter in the back than the old... Fix an oven that won't heat or takes too long to preheat. This igniter glows but may be too weak to open the gas valve. DIY repair in under an hour.
I have used this site before to fix my dishwasher, so I knew to check here first. I searched other's comments to troubleshoot my problem. Ordered the part and it arrived in only a couple of days. I should insert here that I am a 45 yo female, so if I could do this, anyone can. I watched the video and proceeded to replace the part. For my particular model, I didn't access the part from the back, but instead through the underside by removing the bottom drawer. Total from start to finish... Read more
Protective cover for your range control panel with button markings. Replace if cracked, faded, or mounting tabs are broken. Installs over the clock assembly.
I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places. (replacing the elements would have been the easiest and cheapest repair. Pulled the back off the range (unplugged, of course) - checked wiring. There were no loose connections or burned wiring. I disconnected the elements and checked them with a ohmmeter (VOM) and both had continuity. Discovered that both elements used the same... Read more

I purchased two screws (316433300) and the handle (316443602). Screws and handle are exact replacements of old parts that wore out. I was hoping the screw would be longer, but so far it works perfectly. I will keep you posted if it wears out again in the near future. Thanks ApplicancePartsPros.com — this was an easy fix! Unplugged stove. Removed six 1/4 inch socket head screws from back panel. Removed back panel. Removed plug on the back of the OCB. Removed OCB. If your gas burners won't light or igniters aren't sparking, the spark module likely needs replacement. DIY-friendly repair, typically 10-15 minutes.
I tried swapping the cables around by putting the cables from the burners that would light onto the ones that didn't light. When I did that the problem would move. So this is how i determined that the issue was with this module and not the burners or cables. Once this new module arrived it was simple to disconnect the old one and put the cables back on the new one. I tested it (holding by breath!) and then all of the burners started. HOORAY! Read more
