Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Several keys on the touchpad unexpectedly stopped working (ie start cancel setup vent fan light cook reheat soften/melt & defrost quick defrost)   George W. S. • Kennesaw , GA • October 08, 2016

After extremely poor support from WhirlpooI and researching numerous U-Tube videos, I fully troubleshot potential failed components and connections. All appeared to function properly, so I reassembled the unit and experienced the same problem as before. I then narrowed down the problem to either the Touchpad ($57+$8 shipping) or the control board ($295+shipping). If those did not work, then a new Microwave of better quality, reliability and support than original microwave, Unfortunately,... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Low airflow through vent; filter service indicated on display   Brent E. • Mountain View , CA • March 20, 2014

Replacing this filter was very easy: two screws hold in the grill cover at the top of the microwave, and then the filter just slides in and out of its holder. There was quite a bit of grease in the area, probably pulled there by the vent from the stove top. I cleaned the grease up and also hand-washed the wire-mesh filter on the bottom of the microwave with soap and warm water. Airflow when running the vent is now noticeably better. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You We purchased a discounted microwave it was not fully equipped with its accessories   Paul C. • Roseville , CA • September 16, 2018

I have used appliance parts pros before, their website is easy to use. I typed in the model and serial numbers, of course the number I have is rare, It did not show up on the list of models. It made me a little hesitant to submit the order. All three products came in the same box and on the same date it was promised. Just after opening the package I put everything in the microwave and I was relieved when everything fit perfectly. Read more

I'm a 56 year old divorced woman. I started doing these kinds of repairs to save some money and honestly, to see if I could. So yes, if I can do it, it's not that tough to do. My microwave is built in above the stove - getting it down and back up was the hardest part of the job. An extra pair of strong hands really helps-for anybody, not just a 56 year old woman. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud hum/buzz & no heat   Greg S. • Springfield , VA • November 30, 2015

Replacing a magnetron in my particular 9-year-old microwave (a microwave/hood combination) was not a simple “plug & play” operation. That is why I am placing this in the slightly difficult area. First, it takes 2 people to remove the microwave from the top of the stove. Next the main outer panel need to be removed. After that, 2 sheet metal panels need to be removed in order to expose the high voltage components for testing. Always discharge the high voltage capacitor first before doing... Read more

The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced.. Read more
