The Gas Valve Cooktop is an OEM part for Bosch cooktops. This valve is responsible for controlling the flow of gas to the burners on the cooktop. It opens and closes to allow gas to pass through when a burner is turned on and stops the flow of gas when the burner is turned off.

Causes of a bad gas valve can include wear and tear over time, issues with the valve mechanism such as stuck or blocked components, or damage from exposure to moisture or impact.

Symptoms of a bad gas valve include:

Burners not lighting or sparking repeatedly without igniting
Uneven or unpredictable burner flame heights
Burners not getting hot enough for cooking
Burners that cannot be turned on or off
Gas leaks around the valve area

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore cooktop models.

Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing and allow the cooktop to cool completely
If your model uses a plug-in coil style: remove the drip pan, pull the element straight out of the receptacle, and inspect/replace a heat-damaged receptacle as needed
If your model uses an under-glass radiant style: lift the cooktop, transfer any clips/limiters from the old element, and route wires exactly as original
After reassembly, test the burner at a low setting to ensure proper operation
