Description
This surface element supplies heat to an electric range or cooktop burner. When it fails, the burner may not heat or may heat inconsistently. Replacing the element restores steady, reliable cooking performance.
- Converts electrical energy into heat for the cooking zone
- Works with the surface control (infinite switch) to regulate temperature
- Common symptoms: burner won't heat, intermittent or uneven heating, visible breaks/blistering, burnt/melted terminals
- A failed element will not glow or reach set temperature when energized
What's included: 1 surface heating element Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing and allow the cooktop to cool completely
- If your model uses a plug-in coil style: remove the drip pan, pull the element straight out of the receptacle, and inspect/replace a heat-damaged receptacle as needed
- If your model uses an under-glass radiant style: lift the cooktop, transfer any clips/limiters from the old element, and route wires exactly as original
- After reassembly, test the burner at a low setting to ensure proper operation
