I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. Burner not heating or intermittent power? Failed terminal block causes poor electrical connections. Direct plug-in replacement, basic tools needed.
Full disassembly of removable tray into top plate (stainless) and lower pan taking care not to loose fasteners. Removal of terminal blocks using lubrication on rusted screws and, if necessary, drill out technique. Unclip wires from edges of the tray on both sides without losing the clips for future re-use. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. The delivery of the element was superfast, less than 24 hrs. Unplug the Stove from the receptical! Took a phippips screwdriver and took out the 2 screws holding it, and tilted it upwards a bit and pulled the element out about 3 inches an unhooked the wires. Hooked the wires up to the new element and pushed it back into the holes and put the 2 screws back in and turned the stove on and that was all there was to that. Read more
