Above range microwave not heating at all Alan K. • Sunrise , FL • October 05, 2015
LG Help-line said probably a failed magnetron, but since out of warranty, referred me to an authorized LG repair service. They wanted $79.95 service call to come out & diagnose problem. I ordered replacement magnetron for less than cost of a service call, Plus the part was delivered next day! Works like new again. Happy wife = happy life!
Notes for DYI-ers:
1.Be careful removing over the stove microwaves--get help, they are heavier than you think.
2.Unplug microwave for 48 hrs, carefully...

Loud hum/buzz & no heat Greg S. • Springfield , VA • November 30, 2015
Replacing a magnetron in my particular 9-year-old microwave (a microwave/hood combination) was not a simple “plug & play” operation. That is why I am placing this in the slightly difficult area. First, it takes 2 people to remove the microwave from the top of the stove. Next the main outer panel need to be removed. After that, 2 sheet metal panels need to be removed in order to expose the high voltage components for testing.
Always discharge the high voltage capacitor first before doing...

Microwave stopped heating even though it ran Elizabeth W. • Pemberton , NJ • March 08, 2016
Chatted with a verified expert at justanswer.com (for a fee), he confirmed the parts I needed. AppliancePartsPros.com had them in stock AND they were 100% returnable/refundable if I didn't use them or weren't what was bad, even if I installed them! Where can you get that kind of guarantee anymore? Used some YouTube videos to learn how to support the microwave to get it down, & we moved it to the table, I took out the old magnetron and high voltage diode and replaced with the OEM magnetron and...

Blown magnetron Mike B. • Chattanooga , TN • January 11, 2016
Micro stopped working with accompanying loud hum and burning smell. Pulled out of cabinet (micro/stove combo by Electrolux) and found blown (and partially melted) magnetron. Easily found exact replacement on Appliance Parts Pros--ordered, and had micro back working in 2 days! Great search engine and pictures of parts are so helpful;. Have ordered from these folks in the past and will probably do it again. $100 part versus big cost for repair service or a replacement.

Microwave oven was not heating Scott S. • Charlotte , NC • June 20, 2017
I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time....

Loud noise and no heat John B. • Watkinsville , GA • June 10, 2014
This was a total novice job which will be apparent: Managed not to kill myself getting the microwave off the wall over the stove. disassembled the housing and watched youtube videos on discharging the capacitor (there has got to be an easier way than trying to cause an explosion). Fortunately it had difused and no sparks touching the terminals. Removed the diode and capacitor and checked both with non-digital voltmeter. Both appeared dead but it is possible the capacitor was okay since you...

Genuine Ge part

Part Number: WB27X10073
This microwave high-voltage capacitor stores and releases energy in the high-voltage circuit to power the magnetron. Replacing a failed capacitor helps restore proper heating and protects other components in the high-voltage system.
- Works with the transformer and high-voltage diode to supply the magnetron with the required voltage
- Failure may result in the unit running but not heating
- Shorted capacitors can blow the internal fuse or trip a breaker; opens may cause loud humming or buzzing
- Visible swelling or leakage on the capacitor body are common failure signs
What's included: One high-voltage capacitor Install notes:
- Unplug the microwave; capacitors can retain a dangerous charge even when unplugged—discharge using an appropriate, insulated method before servicing
- Note wire positions and terminal orientation; transfer any mounting hardware from the original part
- Mount securely and route wires to avoid pinching

Microwave stopped working, unit would run but food would not get hot Garry H. • Monmouth Beach , NJ • November 19, 2019
This was much easier than I expected. First and foremost discharge the capacitor, google has the instructions. The diagnosis was also easy, really just 3 parts, the Magnetron, the Capacitor, and the Diode. With a simple multimeter measuring the resistance I was able to determine the Magnetron had shorted out and the diode was bad. I replaced all three components which fixed my issue.

My microwave was not heating food but we had power and the turntable was still moving Amanda C. • Danbury , TX • January 25, 2015
I looked up the problem on the Appliance Pros forum and it sounded like the magnetron needed to be replaced. We looked up and ordered the part from Appliance Pros and replaced the magnetron 2 days later when we received it. It was not a difficult replacement but was tume consuming to take it down and remove the cover to get to the part. Within about 90 minutes, we had our microwave back on duty!

Genuine Ge part

Part Number: WB27T10662
The Wall Oven Capacitor Motor is an OEM part for GE wall ovens. Located inside the oven cavity, this motor is responsible for turning the convection fan which circulates hot air for even baking and roasting.
Symptoms of a bad capacitor motor include:
- Inability to select convection bake or roast features
- Uneven cooking results
- Lack of air circulation inside the oven
- Strange noises coming from the fan/motor area
- The convection fan not turning on
Causes of failure can be wear over time, damage from debris inside the oven, or occasional voltage fluctuations which can degrade motor components.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

7 year old GE profile electric range all oven features stopped working John C. • Yorktown Heights , NY • October 12, 2018
With the support of Appliance Parts Pros, I ordered 3 parts (plus glass stove top cleaner) that were suspected to be the cause of the problem for a total of $49.59. Easily replaced the Range Oven Sensor, $15.91, at the back of the interior oven & that was it! All oven features work fine & my wife set the oven for the clean cycle earlier today. So far, so good! Thanks for your help! Would recommend Appliance Parts Pros to anyone.

Ge microwave made a buzzing noise and didn't heat food Michael B. • East Hartford , CT • January 01, 2016
Contacted a AppliancepartsPros tech. Told him what was wrong with my GE Microwave with range hood which is 24 years old. After trying to cook popcorn it made a buzzing noise and didn't heat food. He told me it was the magnetron. I ordered it. Received it approximately 3 days later. I installed it and it was back in perfect working order. I am happy. Saves me from purchasing a new microwave for over the stove which would be very expensive. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.
