I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. • Noisy

Emptied the contents of the freezer into coolers. Removed the rack shelves. Listened when the unit was running to see if I could hear where the noise was coming from. UNPLUGGED the freezer!! The noise seemed to be coming from the back inside so I took out 4 Phillips screws in the back that was easily accessed. Removed the panel and took a look inside, this panel reveled cooling coils, a fan and interconnection tubes and wires. I found that the fan blades had moved back on the shaft to the motor... Replacing the cold control solved the problem. While i was at it i also replaced the defrost timer and installed a new ice door. Read more

The fan blade had vibrated down the shaft of motor and was hitting the fan supports. I replaced motor and new fan blade. The motor was still operating but since I had everything opened up I changed out the motor anyway. Freezer working fine now. The only unforeseen problem is there was a black wire that had to be transferred to the three prong wiring harness. Read more

Replaced the defrost timer. It was not located where the parts explode suggested in the thermostat control box which is located in the upper right corner of the liner. It was in fact outside the freezer compartment on the back lower left support (when looking at the back of the freezer). It is secured with 2 sheet metal screws with a 1/4 hex head. I knew it was the heater element because I have replaced a few over the years. This was the first one I replaced on a french door fridge, It was very difficult because of everything I had to take apart to get to it at the heater. Overall it took me 5 hours. The stand-up freezer has not been done yet, but that should be a lot easier because I have done it before. Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Unscrewed two lower screws at bottom of unit holding black trim panel (that held wood panel in place) and lower black rubber flap.
