The main control board is the primary computer that controls the air conditioner's essential functions such as turning on and adjusting the temperature settings. If the air conditioner is no longer turning on, the control board might need to be replaced. Luckily, replacing this part is a very simple process.To replace the control board, remove the plastic control panel from the front of the unit by unthreading the mounting screws that secure it. Remove the wire harnesses from the control board along with any individual wires attached to the air conditioner. Make sure to take note of their orientation. Pull out the old control board and replace it with the new one by snapping it into its mounting brackets. Reinsert the wire harness and individual wires in their correct terminals and reinstall the front panel.This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with LG brand air conditioner units.
