This felt seal creates a smooth, airtight barrier where the drum meets the bulkhead in your dryer. Replacing a worn seal helps maintain proper airflow, protect fabrics from snagging, and reduce scraping or squealing noises during operation. What it does:

• Seals the gap between the rotating drum and front/rear bulkhead to contain heat and airflow
• Provides a low-friction, cushioned surface for the drum rim
• Helps keep lint and debris out of the cabinet
• Common symptoms of failure: longer or uneven dry times, rubbing/scraping noises, clothes catching or leaving marks at the drum edge, visibly worn or torn felt

• Disconnect power; for gas dryers, also shut off the gas supply
• Remove the top/front panel to access the drum and bulkhead; support drum as needed
• Remove old felt and adhesive; clean the mating surface thoroughly
• Dry-fit the new seal; install per manufacturer guidance; allow proper set time before reassembly
• Hand-rotate the drum to verify even contact and clearance, then test operation

The Lint Filter is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is strategically placed in the dryer to capture lint and debris from clothes during the drying process, helping to prevent these materials from clogging the dryer vent or damaging the internal components. 

Symptoms of a bad Lint Filter include:

• Torn or damaged filter mesh, allowing lint to pass through and accumulate in the vent.
• Excessive lint buildup around the dryer frame, indicating the filter is not capturing properly.
• Reduced drying efficiency, with clothes still damp after a cycle, suggesting a clogged filter or airflow issue.

Causes of a bad lint filter can include normal wear and tear from regular use, accidental damage from sharp objects or heavy laundry items, or improper maintenance, such as not cleaning the filter regularly.
