Thermistor (Ntc Temperature Sensor, Dryer)

This NTC thermistor is the dryer's temperature sensor. It monitors exhaust air temperature and signals the control to cycle the heat, restoring accurate drying performance and helping prevent overheating, underheating, and inconsistent results.

  • Monitors exhaust air temperature by changing resistance as heat rises (NTC behavior)
  • Sends temperature feedback to the control to regulate the heater or gas valve
  • Failure can cause no heat, overheating, or erratic temperatures
  • May lead to long dry times, short cycles, or temperature-related error codes
What's included: 1 thermistor Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and, for gas models, shut off the gas supply before servicing
  • Access the sensor on the blower housing or exhaust duct; location varies by model
  • Note wire routing; unplug the harness connector; remove the mounting fastener/clip; install the new sensor fully seated and reconnect
  • Reassemble, restore power, and run a test cycle; check and clean venting to ensure proper airflow
