Shaft Damper Door (Assembly)

This shaft damper door assembly controls the damper door movement in the appliance vent system, helping proper airflow and preventing backdrafts. It replaces a worn or broken damper shaft so the door opens and closes reliably. What it does:

  • Provides the rotating shaft and mounting needed for the damper door to swing open and closed
  • Restores proper venting and helps prevent outside air or pests from entering when idle
  • Commonly replaced when the damper door is stuck, broken, or the shaft is bent or worn
  • Helps reduce airflow restrictions and abnormal noises caused by a damaged damper shaft
What's included: One shaft damper door assembly (single unit) Install notes:
  • Turn off and unplug the appliance (or shut off power at the breaker) before servicing
  • Remove only the panels needed for access; take care with sharp sheet metal edges
  • Verify orientation of the damper door and shaft before removing the old part to ensure correct reassembly
