This gas valve regulates and safely delivers fuel to your dryer's burner. When operating correctly, it opens for ignition and closes when heat is satisfied, providing consistent, reliable heating for effective drying.

The Dual Coil is an OEM part for GE dryers. This is often referred to as the “M” coil. If you need to replace both the main coil and dual coil, it is recommended to order the kit 279834, which includes both coils for a comprehensive replacement.

Causes of a faulty dual coil can include wear and tear over time, electrical component failure, or damage due to overheating or excessive usage. These factors can result in insufficient heat production, inconsistent drying, or no heat at all.

Symptoms of a bad dual coil may include:

• Insufficient heat or no heat during the drying cycle
• Inconsistent drying results
• Extended drying times

The Main Coil is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is a crucial component of the gas valve assembly, responsible for opening the gas valve to allow gas flow to the burner, enabling the dryer to produce heat.

Causes of a bad main coil can include electrical faults such as short circuits or open circuits within the coil, wear and tear from prolonged use, or damage due to overheating. Over time, the coil's ability to control the gas flow can diminish, affecting the dryer's performance.

Symptoms of a bad main coil include:

• The dryer not heating up
• Intermittent heating during a drying cycle
• The dryer taking longer than usual to dry clothes
• A clicking sound without the ignition of the burner
