This mounting cup installs in the freezer liner to create a secure attachment point for the ice maker or its bracket. It helps keep the assembly stable and properly aligned so the ice maker mounts firmly and operates reliably. What it does:

• Provides the receiving anchor for the ice maker/bracket mounting screw
• Helps hold the ice maker level and reduces movement or vibration
• A worn, stripped, or missing cup can prevent the screw from tightening
• Common signs include a loose or sagging ice maker, rattling, or difficulty keeping the ice maker aligned
