This OEM replacement part is a forward clutch spring. The forward clutch spring, also known as the extension spring, is commonly used to allow the idler pulley bracket to pivot when activating or turning off the blade rotation. If the blades are no longer rotating properly, this part might need to be replaced. Luckily, this is a very simple process.To replace the extension spring, start by removing the mower deck. Once removed, locate the spring. Once visible, unhook the top portion of the spring from the hole it is attached to. Replace the old spring with the new one and make sure it is attached securely.
