The left-hand bolo tine attaches to the left tine holder and is used to dig up dirt in the area being tilled. If the tines become so worn that they are pointed, the tiller will not perform acceptably. The tiller will not dig as deeply nor will chop garden residues and cover crops. The tines are typically to be replaced as a set rather than individually.To replace the tines, begin by removing the sheer bolt with a wrench that connects the tine assembly to the tine shaft. Next by using either a wrench or small impact driver, remove all nuts and bolts disconnecting the tines from the tine holder. Replace the left-hand and right-hand tines, tightening with either a wrench or small impact driver, and reattach the tine holder assembly to the tiller securing it with the sheer bolt.
