Start relay for refrigerator compressors that helps the compressor begin running at power-up. Replacing a failed relay can restore normal starting behavior and resolve common startup symptoms. What it does

  • Provides the initial start current path to the compressor during startup.
  • Allows the compressor to reach running speed, then drops out once the motor is running.
  • Common symptoms a bad relay may cause: compressor clicking, humming without starting, intermittent cooling or frequent cycling.
  • Installed as the electrical component used only on compatible compressor assemblies.
What's included Includes one start relay. Install notes
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid electrical shock.
  • Access the relay at the compressor; remove and replace the relay only after confirming diagnostics.
  • Dispose of the old electrical part per local regulations.
