This refrigerator compressor circulates refrigerant to cool the appliance and restore proper temperatures. Replaces a failed compressor to help the refrigerator maintain set temperatures when the cooling system is compromised. What it does:

• Pumps refrigerant through the sealed cooling system to enable heat exchange and cooling.
• Runs the refrigeration cycle so the refrigerator and freezer can reach and hold target temperatures.
• Common symptom linkage: fridge not cooling, compressor humming or not running, or frequent cycling.
• Can cause system pressure issues if damaged or leaking.

• One compressor (single sealed unit)

• Power should be disconnected before beginning work and the refrigerant must be recovered per regulations.
• System evacuation, leak testing, and proper recharge with the correct refrigerant are necessary after replacement.
• May require replacement of mounting hardware, start device, or filter-drier—verify system condition during service.
