This is a sheet metal punch that is intended for use with select models of machines called nibblers. The punch is the piece that drives the piston downward. It helps to reduce the scattering of cut chips on the workpiece. If there is an issue with the punch, the nibbler will no longer work properly or punch into the sheet metal. It will need to be replaced.The materials used to make the punch are high-quality, and there should not be any breaks or chips in most circumstances. If the piece has a defect, or if it is somehow corroded, replace it as soon as possible.This punch works with certain models of nibblers from Hitachi.
