Part Number: 316215901
This temperature-activated limit thermostat is a safety switch for the range/wall oven that reacts to excessive heat to protect internal wiring and controls. Replacing a failed thermostat can restore reliable heating and reduce nuisance shutdowns during baking or self-clean.
- Monitors oven/cabinet temperature and switches its circuit at a calibrated threshold to protect components
- Failure symptoms can include: no bake or broil heat, oven shutting off mid-cycle, or loss of heat after a self-clean cycle
- On some models, a failed thermostat may also affect the cooling fan (not running or running unexpectedly)
- Can be checked with a continuity test per your model's tech sheet
What's included: 1 thermostat Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker and let the appliance cool completely before service
- Location varies by model; commonly mounted to the rear of the oven cavity, upper plenum, or behind the back panel
- Photograph wiring and transfer leads one at a time; reuse original mounting hardware/orientation
- Never bypass a safety thermostat; replace only with the specified part number
