The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the refrigerator’s ice maker and water dispenser. The valve opens and closes to allow the right amount of water to fill the ice maker tray or to dispense water from the refrigerator door.

Over time, the water inlet valve can wear out or become damaged due to mineral deposits, corrosion, or electrical issues. A faulty valve can lead to problems with the water supply, affecting the refrigerator’s ability to produce ice or dispense water properly.

Symptoms of a bad water inlet valve include:

This ice maker fill cup directs water from the refrigerator fill tube into the ice maker mold so each cycle fills correctly. Replacing a damaged cup restores consistent ice production and helps prevent water spills. What it does:

• Channels water from the fill tube into the ice maker mold for proper tray filling.
• Prevents water from dripping into the freezer compartment when intact.
• A cracked, warped, or missing fill cup can cause underfilled ice cubes, overflowing molds, or water pooling in the freezer.
• Compatible with common top/front-mounted household ice makers that use a separate plastic fill cup.

• Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before starting work.
• Remove the ice bin or ice maker assembly as needed to access the fill cup.
