Philip S Alexandria , VA March 22, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer MAVT546EWW After a power outage, all the lights on dial would light up and flash twice, every 15 seconds or so and while starting a cycle, water would run for about 15 seconds and shut off. I read one of the other reviews which was identical to my situation. It appears that the control board was damaged from a power outage. I ordered the part early Saturday morning and it came in on Tuesday (standard shipping was used). After unscrewing the 3 screws that held the upper panel on, I was able to lower the panel, unplug all the wires connected to the control board, removed the control board (held in by plastic clips), snap the new one in and plugged all the wiring back onto the control board. Put the panel back on and plugged the machine in. I took my time, double checking the connections and making sure I was doing it right. I spent about 15-30 minutes. If I had to do it again, it can be done within 15 minutes. There have been about 8 loads of laundry washed in the last 5 days and it works fine. Mary M Akron , OH January 24, 2015 Maytag clothes washer was stuck on first wash with all lights on the cycle status dial lit up From reading all I could, I guessed that the Washer Control Board was the problem and ordered it because I was told I could return it if it did not correct the problem. Received the Board two days later. Installed it without any instructions, making sure each plug I disconnected was correctly connected on the new Board. Reinstalled Board and washer works fine. Installation took 1.5 hours. Only problem was the fact that there were no instructions with the part or on line. With instruction I could have finished in one-half the time. Read More...
