Ramon G Byram Twp , NJ November 21, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MEDX700XL0 Rumbling noise that gets worse the longer the dryer is running At first I changed the rollers but that did not fix the problem so I suspected the motor. Purchased the motor then the blower wheel would not come off. The metal sleeve in the middle of the blower wheels was on the motor so tight that the plastic wheel was just spinning on it. Bought a blower wheel and used a hole saw to cut the old wheel off. Luckily, the hole in the fan shroud that the motor shaft goes through is big enough that I was able to slide the motor out with the metal sleeve still on the end.Installed the new motor and blower and reassembled the dryer. Voila...no more noise. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
Rick P Huntington Beach , CA December 16, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MGDX700XW1 Bravos dryer drum won't turn dryer just beeps when you push start My bravos dryer would not start sometimes, and then finally wouldn't start at all. I took the front panels off after I unplugged it and felt the motor spindle was frozen. The bearings had seized in the motor. So I ordered a new motor and thought I might as well change the drum belt and put new drum roller bearings with the kit 4392067 also a new belt idler pulley that all comes in the kit. There are many videos online about changing the motor it's fairly easy. The most difficult part will be removing the blower wheel from the motor shaft. This is a left hand thread so clockwise will remove it! Do this before you order your parts because sometimes the blower needs to be cut off and you will need to buy a new one. Also this is a good time to remove all lint from the dryer and exhaust lines. Dryers are very sensitive to any air flow blockage and clothes will dry very slowly. Also there's no way to explain how difficult putting the drum belt back on the idler. Some dryers are easy some are hard to reach. You just must be patient. The dryer is up and running again thanks to appliance parts pros, Don't be afraid of this repair you can do it. William F Raleigh , NC October 31, 2021 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MED6000AW0 Noisy very loud rumbling sound. I first thought it was the drum rollers (4392067 - Dryer repair kit) and/or shafts (2X - WPW10359272, 2X - WPW10359271), so I replaced them. The noise persisted, so I moved on to the blower fan. Once the blower fan was replaced the noise was gone. The old fan looks "ok", but I suspect that it may be warped enough to set up a vibration in the unit. Read More...
