Whirlpool W10685193 Water Inlet Valve Adapter OEM Part

Found the correct USA made OEM part from Appliance Pros, and installed it on my new Dishwasher. The use of this correctly manufactured Adapter prevented any damage to the threads of the dishwashers inlet solenoid valve which is made of a plastic material. If I had forced the after market adapter onto the solenoid valve instead of ordering the OEM adapter; it would have ruined the threads on the plastic solenoid valve resulting in the need to purchase a very expensive replacement valve. Returned the after market adapter to Lowe's and told them to ship it back to China.

Had to get replacement parts. there was no Water Inlet Valve adapter. Tubing did not fit. Unfortunately we did not notice pg. #3 which noted that we probably needed this part. So the saga of putting it in went on and washing dishes by hand was extended. My note to any one is to read the directions and don't assume that the machine comes with all the parts needed. We also needed and got a wire to plug in the outlet and a WIRE STRAIN RELIEF. Very important. Our appliance man was on vacation.

Removed old washer and installed new.

Replacing the water inlet valve took less than 15 minutes. It was a perfect fit and solved the low water problem with my dishwasher (Kenmore 665. 17795791). I decided to replace the old water supply line, shutoff, and hose as part of the job and that took about an hour of fussing and fiddling.
