Robert W Sterling , VA October 27, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG NEPTUNE DRYER Broken belt Have a Maytag Neptune dryer that is about 18 years old. Has worked fine up til now. All of a sudden the drum was not spinning. Great. Is it worth the expense of a service call? Watched an on line video of how to disassemble a Maytag Neptune. Looked inside mine and found a broken belt. Ordered an OEM belt and followed instructions in another video of how to install a belt and reassemble dryer. Vacuumed the dust out of the frame, cleaned the inside of the drum with some scratch free cleaner and replaced the light bulb that burned out years ago while I was waiting for the belt to be delivered. William R King George , VA February 26, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE5500AYW Drum roller on the right side above the heating element and duct was squawking very loudly I applied heat proof grease to the drum roller shafts which fixed the problem for awhile. Started making the noise again so I ordered new shafts and drum rollers, idler pulley and new drum drive belt. I installed everything and the dryer now runs like new and quiet. Read More...
