Whirlpool 8193646 Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser Actuator OEM Part

Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle.

Order parts

Accuator spring was broke. Watched the video that was on website on how to replace accuator which included how to take front cover off as well as assembly of new accuator with spring replacement. Was very helpful. Note*** new accuator does not come with new spring, must purchase separate**. I did not scroll down far enough and see this so had to make two different purchases two different days, definitely user error.

First I spent almost $97.00 for Sears to come and order a $6.50 spring but not return to install it and $80.00 for a local service man to install the spring. The release worked one time after that. I found your website and watched one of your repaire videos and got the number if a repair and service manual that you did not stock. I ordered the parts from you and located a repair manual online. Thanks to your video and the manual it took me about 15 minutes to repair the dishwasher abd it has been working perfectly for the past several days. Your website is now bookmarked.
