Description

The shut-off arm is the lever that tells the ice maker when to stop and start making ice. Replace a bent, missing, or jammed arm to restore proper ice production control and prevent bin overfilling. What it does:

Lowers to allow ice production; raises to stop cycles when the bin is full (down = on, up = off)
Helps prevent overfilling, spills, and auger jams
Common symptoms: ice maker won't stop making ice, no ice when the arm is stuck up, inconsistent ice production from misalignment
Restores proper ice level sensing when the original lever is damaged or missing

Install notes:

Disconnect power and shut off water before servicing
Remove the ice bin to access the ice maker
Seat the arm's pivot ends fully in the ice maker head; avoid bending the lever
The arm moves freely up/down and clears the bin before restoring power
