Mike F Fayetteville , GA September 09, 2026 Appliance: Model KITCHENAID Original heating calrod had warped upward and stopped the lower arm stopping it's movement and melting the plastic on one of the three arms ruining it I did not need to disconnect the water and power supply lines...just make sure they are turned off prior to your start. I disconnected the mounting screws in the front top and pulled the dishwasher out. This gave me access to the mounting points of the heating unit in the back underneath. On the heating unit I slid the power wires (2) off, unscrewed the plastic nuts from the underside to release the heating unit. I had already removed the spray arm from the inside before pulling it out. This is simply taking a counterclockwise turn and it is released and can be pulled up and out. The install with the two new parts was just as simple as the removal. This entire repair will take less than an hour. Remember to cut the water and power off prior to your start and turn them on when you remount the dishwasher under the counter. Enjoy. Read More...
