The part just plugged in after removing some screws to get to the control box area. It fixed the problem and I was so glad not to go out and get a new appliance. Travis S Ft Worth , TX January 27, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Built-In Electric Oven Self Clean RBS305PDQ17 Oven would overheat and lock itself by watching the oven i discovered that the top (broil) heating element would not turn off even after oven had pre heated I got on a chat session with the team at Appliance Parts Pro and they diagnosed the problem as most likely being a bad electronic control board. I watched a couple of videos I found online about how to take the oven door off. After the door is off then I just had to look for a few screws which allowed me to get to the oven's components. (Be sure the oven is turned off at the breaker panel before attempting a repair) The control board was fairly easy to remove, so I took pictures of how the wires were attached, then I removed and re-seated all the wiring and plugs. That didn't fix the problem so I ordered the control board and replaced it, and the oven then worked perfectly. The Appliance Parts Pros were a big help in getting this resolved. Thank you! James F Little Rock , AR September 05, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Drop-In Electric Oven Self Clean RS675PXGQ12 Blank display no response on oven control board Replaced using the part I ordered. The how-to video was of no help, as mine is a drop-in model. I ended up cracking one side of the plastic exterior/cover for the control board, but not a big deal as it's purely cosmetic and you'd have to be looking for it to see it. Also, the ribbon connector to the external display is a little tricky--I got error code F2 E1 after the install--so make sure it's firmly connected. Otherwise, peace of cake and cheaper than the $600 the technician wanted. For that price I could replace the whole thing with a free-standing model! Read More...
