Travis S Ft Worth , TX January 27, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Built-In Electric Oven Self Clean RBS305PDQ17 Whirlpool Oven Rbs305pdq17: Oven would overheat and lock itself by watching the oven i discovered that the top (broil) heating element would not turn off even after oven had pre heated. How to replace Oven Control Board. I got on a chat session with the team at Appliance Parts Pro and they diagnosed the problem as most likely being a bad electronic control board. I watched a couple of videos I found online about how to take the oven door off. After the door is off then I just had to look for a few screws which allowed me to get to the oven's components. (Be sure the oven is turned off at the breaker panel before attempting a repair) The control board was fairly easy to remove, so I took pictures of how the wires were attached, then I removed and re-seated all the wiring and plugs. That didn't fix the problem so I ordered the control board and replaced it, and the oven then worked perfectly. The Appliance Parts Pros were a big help in getting this resolved. Thank you! 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
