Whirlpool WPW10247536 Drive Motor OEM Part

First replaced the sensor and electric circuit board, that did not fix the problem. Before I sent back those parts, I instead decided to try replacing the motor. That was in fact what was broken, so I am sending back the board and sensor. This company made it so easy to buy the parts and when I had a question they were very helpful on the phone. Replacing the motor was so simple, all that you need is a screwdriver.

Replaced motor unit very easy to do, needed to remove 10 screws in all. Also need to remove and unplug the circuit board and the planetary gear cover.

The mixer let out a puff of smoke when turned off after 7 minutes of kneading bread. There were no burnt wires or electrical connections I could see. Assumed it was the motor vs. the control board. All it took was a Phillips head screwdriver to take the mixer apart and install the new motor. I think there were a total of 15 screws to disassemble. I could have reused the motor shaft seal, but glad I ordered a replacement just in case. Wish I would have had some grease on hand to apply to the drive shaft.
