Cary G Aurora , IL April 03, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE ELITE 110.45962400 The basket mounting in my washing machine broke loose My washing machine started banging when the spin cycle got close to full speed. After some research I determined that the mounting spindle had probably broken loose. With a manual I found online and a basket from AppliancePartsPros.com I disassembled everything down to just a shell, changed the basket and reassembled the washer. As I removed parts I put some screws and fasteners back in place so I wouldn't lose them or forget where they went. I also marked the drum during disassembly so I could put all the clips back where they came from. It was a slow process for me 'cause I had never torn one down that far before. I'm glad I took my time because it all came apart pretty easy and went back together well. It works great and I saved hundreds of $$. Thanks APP. Gary M Columbia , MO February 14, 2015 Appliance: Model 9100LW2 Whrilpool model 9100lw2 was making noise At first I thought it was a bearing problem. I noticed the brackets holding the shaft of the basket was made from aluminum and not stainless. Knowing about Dissimilar metals cause corrosion. I found that the brackets had corroded and crack. So I had to replace the basket. I did replace the bearings and seal since it was already torn apart. I was surprised that the new basket took only 24 hours for delivery. Ferdinand K South Wellfleet , MA May 10, 2015 Appliance: Kenmore Automatic Washer Horizontal Axis 11044826301 Washer sounded like a rock crushing machine Took it apart using YouTube video (funbro1). Ordered new bearings but when I got the machine apart I found out the spider on the basket was so corroded that the spindle had broken grime the spider. Couldn't order just the spider for this model so had to buy new basket with spider and spindle together. Sprayed new spider with aluminum underwater primer and finish paint. Don't know if it will make a difference but it might. So for $360 and change and a little time I have a new machine. Maybe I'll get another ten years out of it!! Warren Y Roslindale , MA February 21, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer GHW9150PW0 The familiar bitten by the spider bracket had happened common to whirlpool duets and cousins Although I was familiar with digging around in the Whirlpool Duet, it was handy to have video thanks to AppliancePartsPros. So the procedure of removal is not hard to do, it is more a heavy detailed set of steps. Screws in the way, panels, hoses, wires, remove belt, unhook springs, remove clamps and remove basket. It seemed as easy as that. For anyone out there looking to do this, take digital picture of ever step or video and importantly, take your time.
