Ping J Southborough , MA June 15, 2021 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer SAV515DAWW Loud noise like jet engine during fast spin I suspected the main bearing had worn out, and I was right. It is a difficult job, because I am retired, I had the time. During disassembly, I found the hub had rusted really bad, it needed replacement. I did not buy special tools. The manufacturer repair manual says to use three OEM tools, I made some tools with wood. Simon's video is a big help. Now the washer is quiet, time will tell how good a job I did. This is the first time I opened up a washer, the second time would be much easier.
