Bryan M Houghton , NY February 29, 2016 Bad terminal block and damaged power cord My stove stopped working on a Wednesday. Wednesday evening around 9:00 PM EST I ordered the parts for repair and did not pay extra for shipping as I expected them to arrive on Monday regardless. My parts were delivered Friday morning and the stove was repaired by noon on Friday. I was shocked at the quick delivery. Raymond R Scottsdale , AZ April 14, 2020 The terminal block cracked causing the black lead to arc and shorting out and tripping the breaker I ordered a new terminal block. I shut down the breaker and unplugged the appliance cord. I detached the old terminal block with a phillips screwdriver a pair of needle nose and regular pair of pliers. I cleaned the leads from the stove with some emery cloth, you can use a medium coarse sandpaper, I cut off the ends of the appliance wire as the lead that arced was fused to the plastic of the terminal block and attached new connector rings to the end of the cord. I identified the end of the cord which connected to the black lead of the stove with black electrical tape. I attached the new block to the stove, reattached all the wiring starting with the stove leads and plugged in the cord to the outlet. I then stood back, because you never know, :-) and had my son switch the breaker back on. The clock lit up on the stove, no loud pop and we are all good to go. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for saving me hundreds of dollars in repair fees, but also giving me a teaching moment with my son. Read More...
