Whirlpool WP67005959 Ice Crusher Bucket OEM Part

All the corners of the Ice Bucket were cracked and was causing the screw inside the bucket to jam.

First I call a maytag repairmen who charged me $85 for service call. He then told me that I would need to go on line to get the parts for the repair and installed them myself, in which I did. The repair was done according to the Appliance parts you tube directions. Considering I did not know what was wrong with the frig, I guess the $85 dollar service call was necessary.

I purchased the two parts from the website, watched the installation video a couple times while repairing it and it was a breeze. I cannot believe I have waited a year with a terrible ice crusher thinking it would just be a loss. No home warranties cover ice machines and the labor is high to have it repaired. I even looked into buying a portable ice machine to set on the counter thinking it was my only resort to having ice. I tried Amazon, Sears and Amana websites but found what I was looking for once I was redirected to ApplianceParts Pros.com. Love the simple instruction video!!!!

The bucket was an easy fix. There is a film on the website showing exactly how to replace it. The ice crusher was a bit of a problem because it had to be completely taken apart -- many small parts to put back in order!! We used the diagram from the website, plus I took photos from various angles before we took it apart. We were careful, and with patience, it went back together. We ordered the parts on a weekend, and expected it to take a few days. The parts were sitting in our breezeway early Tuesday morning. Quite a pleasant surprise. We are very grateful to Appliance Parts Pros. We have bought parts for the refrigerator and the dishwasher and they have been received promptly and been exactly what we ordered..

The light bulb was the hardest because the bulb had broken and the light comes on with the door open and I did not want to get electrocuted grapping the inside of the bulb but I finally figured out that the door light switch could be pushed with the door open (pulling the frig out and unplugging it would be a lot of trouble it this case) and wearing a glove I got the old bulb socket out. To remove the ice maker requires removing one screw and unplugging it - about 30 seconds. It took about 5 minutes to swap out the internals on the ice tray bucket - 2 screws. These types of jobs are actually kind of fun when everything goes as it should.
