Damon B Tumwater , WA January 09, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Convent Gas Cartridge JGA8100ADW11 Pitted rusted burner and brass ring eaten away by rust Flip the burner facing down. Take out the seven screws that hold together the housing and the slip off the housing. Disconnect the igniter leads. Turn the burner clock wise from the opposite side your likely working. You'll get a better purchase there. Take the screws out of the old igniter, as they don't come in with the new igniter. Install the new igniter on to the new burner. Make sure that the igniter is poking all the way out of the whole in the burner. I found that the screws did not need to be tightened very hard, just very snug. Place the brass ring between the burner and the venturi.Reverse the process of breaking down the stove top you used to extract the burner. Don't forget to reconnect the leads to the igniters. Christine B Meredith , NH February 13, 2016 Appliance: Jenn-Air Range-S/C S/I Gas & Elec Duel Fuel JDS9860AAB Burners were leaking gas igniters didn't work I removed the burners, which were rusted and needed some tapping. They were pretty stubborn to remove from the insert. I removed the spark igniters, which were rusted where they screwed into the burner and then removed the venturi tubes.. Once this was done, I installed the new igniters to the underside of the new burner. I then installed the burners, which only took simple placement and a quarter turn to lock them in. I then hooked up the igniter wire to the new spark igniters. The repair cost me approx $130.00 to replace 2 burners instead of buying a new burner insert for $350.00 and it took less than 1 hour to do. I plan on doing the other double burner now. Not too difficult for a anyone. Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
