Isaac G Mcallen , TX November 03, 2014 Appliance: Model 7MGHW9100MW1 Whirlpool duet washing machine 7mghw9100mw1 with f06 error code We started getting the F06 code when on the normal cycle it was time to Rinse/Spin, pointing to a speed/tachometer issue on the motor. After several attempts of unplugging from power and restarting the cycle it would eventually start working for the rest of the laundry session. The Whirlpool technician after a brief look on the underside determined it was the motor and had to be replaced, even tough all troubleshooting tests on the motor were ok. I insisted that the probability was much higher that it was a faulty MCU. He insisted on the motor and when he quoted parts and labor I started to think it would be cheaper to buy a new machine, specially when they would not take back the motor if it wasn't the problem. The MCU didn't looked damaged with no burn stains and it's capacitors were not bulged which I believe were the culprit. All cables and connectors were double checked. The motor would work perfectly fine until the Spin part and after several tries it would work fine for a day of laundry. So I did my research and found this site with the correct part in stock and excellent online chat service to validate the part number which had been replaced to a new compatible one from the old one on the machine. Excellent price and sale conditions made for an easy decision to try my luck with the MCU first. The correct part was received 2 days later and it took me less that 15 minutes to replace with the old one. On first try, a test wash worked flawlessly and now after two weekly days of laundry and no more F06 errors I can say, I was right! Pete J Saint George , UT April 13, 2014 Appliance: Model 8182696 F11 error with whirlpool duet washer I had a local appliance tech come and look at my washer. They were not sure whether it needed a new main control or motor control or both. They quoted $550 if it was the main control, and $400 more if that didn't fix it and a motor control was needed. You can buy a new Duet washer for about $750, so that didn't make sense to me. I didn't want to send this washer to the landfill just because of one bad control. The forum at Appliance Parts Pros had an exact diagnosis. The washer would start when I pushed the button, then a little water would fill, but the drum would never spin and no more water would come. Someone on the forum described this and said it indicates the motor control is bad. I ordered a motor control from APP. It arrived quickly and the install video they made was super helpful. The washer is fixed. Cost was $170. APP knew better than my local repair shop how to fix this. Next time I have an appliance issue I'll come to APP first. Super satisfied customer. Dimitri B Riverview , FL March 24, 2014 F11 error code First I tried to replace control panel , but it did not help, so I returned it and ordered motor control unit, which fixed the problem perfectly. Upon inspection, old unit had visibly burned our circuit board, which was obviously the root cause. F11 code is misleading because it states communication error, but it could also mean a totally burned motor control board as it was in my case.
