Stephanie N Tillery , NC September 09, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GI5SVAXVL01 The touch panel wouldn't switch from water to ice; the temp controls wouldn't adjust freezer or refrigerator temps; lights blinked red when controls touched Replaced the Dispenser Keyboard Overlay and Control Board in about 5 minutes. No tools were required. The hardest part was removing all the sticky residue from the plastic panel that the old overlay left behind. I found that alcohol wipes did a great job at getting it off. We are back to 100% functional for under $200, and I couldn't be happier! Brian B Greencastle , IN April 04, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GI5SVAXVL01 Overlay/touch pad buttons were not working Replace the overlay. This was about a 45 minute job. The hardest part of the job was removing the adhesive to allow me to install the new one. One story I read said 20 min to perform this and I would say if you do them all of the time probably. They also mentioned using alcohol to break down the adhesive, which worked well but made a mess. I would wear some surgical type of rubber gloves and use alcohol or maybe goo gone next time. I did not replace the control board on my fix, which previous people have done and it now works again. Great part and great shipping. I ordered on a Saturday and had it Tuesday afternoon.
