Jennifer C Plainville , MA June 15, 2015 Appliance: Amana Refrigerator DRB1901CW Erratic/warm temps sometimes worked fine but not reliably My fridge was often reaching 60-70 degrees but would work well when motor/fans were running; it just wasn't cooling regularly. I checked the coils, defrost, damper, and fans, and they all seemed to work, so that only left the cold control in terms of what I was willing to try to fix. (It wasn't worth messing with the compressor as the fridge is 12 yrs old.) The fridge would sometimes kick on when I tapped the cold control knob so it was a reasonable - and, it turns out, correct - guess. I ordered this part on a Thursday afternoon and it arrived on Friday without me paying for expedited shipping. (Kudos to APP!) It was easy to replace and the fridge has maintained proper temps since. I'm SO GLAD I cancelled the delivery of a new fridge to give this repair a try. Steps to replace in my Amana DRB1901CW Bottom Freezer Fridge (control in freezer): -Unplug fridge or shut off circuit breaker. -Remove clear plastic grille covering cold control and light bulb. (Push in tabs & pull down.) -Remove cold control knob by pulling down until it comes off spoke. -Pull cold control unit down from housing. (I used a flathead screwdriver to push in tabs.) -Note where the three wire connections are attached, then gently slide them off. (I used needle-nose pliers.) -Remove old part from plastic housing and replace with new part. -Slide three dangling wire connections onto new part. -Align knob and reconnect to spoke. -Pop cold control unit back in, then plastic grille. All done! For reference, I have no repair experience and it was a simple replacement, under ten minutes. It was well worth the gamble once I narrowed down the suspect parts. Mark C Roseburg , OR June 20, 2016 Not cooling properly I determined it was the thermostat. I asked my friend, who repairs appliances also, where to order parts. He gave me your website. I had looked on many other sites but couldn't find the part. It showed up in 2 days and was a perfect fit. My fridge works perfectly now. Ivan J Nashville , TN December 20, 2015 Fridge not coming on regularly Ordered an overlay and other parts, no response from the fridge. After watching a video and paying additional $80 for a house call. It was the temperature control, another $80 and my fridge is humming nicely, spilling ice in the box and keeping temperature, properly. I would recommend them, even if they send you the wrong part they will fix it (my case). I got it working, hopefully for another ten years. A+=they will make it right and their chat is live=highly recommended.
