Trung T Seattle , WA March 04, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer WED8300SW2 Whirlpool dryer mod#wed8300sw2 error code f 01 Drying clothes. found dry clothes and dryer off. put in next load. when press start, F-01 error. unplugged dryer and flipped breaker. waited half hour. plugged back in and turned breaker on. nothing doing. same F-01 error. unplugged dryer again. moved dryer out and checked the exhaust port for blockage. clean. left unplugged and unscrewed bottom panel to get manual. reconnected exhaust and power cord. did diagnostic per manual to rule out other faults/errors as this electronic control board is expensive to just try and see. no other errors. went online to research and buy. this wasn't the cheapest place but this site had the BEST information on the product as well as the pic and product match confirmed this was the correct part for my machine. SQUEEZED, not pulled, the trigger on a $250 part plus two day shipping costs. got it at 3pm and the dryer was back in action by 3:20pm same day. Now to deal with the core exchange!?! I've bought two other parts here before to fix the washer and it worked great also. Thank goodness as we were looking at some $3000 new washer and dryer sets because the washer has to match the dryer to work (sarcasm). I think control board got too hot from clothes being folded and left on top of the dryer while another load was drying and generating heat that couldn't be dissipated quickly enough and the location of the control board is on the very top, usually right under the panel where those mountains of folded clothes are stacked! Richard S Wake Forest , NC June 12, 2014 F01 error code on whirlpool duet dryer Per the service manual bought this card and replaced the one that had burnt out. The replacement was very simple. The defective card was at the top of the dryer and on the left hand side. Simply removed the screws at the back top of the dryer, pulled off the top. The card is easily visible. Removed the card, installed the new one. Reassembled and everything was functional in about 10 minutes. With the problem diagnosed I viewed a few YouTube videos on repairing the problem. Parts pro's web site was easy to navigate and place the order. I received the part as promised. I installed it and it's working great. The job took about 15minutes to remove the old part and examine and about 5 minutes to install the new one when it arrived.
