Justin L Berkeley , CA September 25, 2023 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KRBX109EWH00 The fridge compartment warm, the freezer a big block of ice also fridge made horrible cracking sound all the time. This website had some information about how to access the thermostat in the freezer compartment. Along with some other Google videos I found. I got some good tips on what to do about the block of ice and how simple it was to replace the thermostat. The damper control didn't have much information on it but it's really not that hard at all. The damper unit failed and works sporadically so sometimes the refrigerator unit was warmer than normal and then sometimes things like my yogurt or frozen solid I couldn't figure it out but I think the damper flap was stuck open and then the gears ground and ground and then it snapped open or closed.
