Lela M. W Spring Hill , FL February 06, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Cooktop G9CE3065XB00 Cracked glass I turned off the breaker to the Cook top, I then got under the counter and pushed the cook top through the opening in the counter, placed the cook top over the opening on the counter to stabilize it and then I used a Phillip head screwdriver removed all the screws , lifted the broken glass and put on the new glass, replaced the screws, placed the cook top back into the opening on the counter and turned back on the breaker. Jerome K East Bernard , TX November 20, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Cooktop G9CE3065XB00 Replace cook top cracked. Turn power off. Always verify power is off by using a voltage meter or seeing if burners don't come on. Underneath cook top remove all screw that is holding cook top to counter. Lift cook top out. (If cook top does not lift out, I used a utility knife underneath side and front edges of cook top, avoid scratching counter top). Unscrew screws holding cook top to base, lift top off, replace with new top. Screw new cook top to base. Check seal around cook top and counter top, mine had a thin rubber gasket. Place cook top back. Use a tape measure to align cook top straight with counter top. Tie down cook top to counter top, do not over tighten. If you had to disconnect power, reconnect power, turn power back on. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
