Lance B Vancouver , WA March 24, 2014 Appliance: Jenn-Air Self Cleaning Slide-In Downdraft Electric Range JES9800AAS Broken glass cooktop on Jenn Aire range I ordered replacement cooktop from AppliancePros.com and the part arrived 4 days later, packaged very well and looking exactly like it was pictured on the website. The new cooktop took less than 30 minutes to replace and that was without me having any past experience working on appliances! The top was attached with 8 screws that were very easy to access and identify. Once I removed the screws, I lifted the broken glass cooktop and unclipped the two wire harnesses attaching it to the range. The old top came off just that quick. I took the opportunity to clean all around the range in the nooks and crannies that having the cooktop off allowed me to reach, which actually took more time than the actual repair work. Then I reattached the wire harnesses to the new cooktop, placed in carefully in place and secured it with the 8 screws. I slid it back in place and voila! Job done in 30 minutes! John H Columbia , MO December 21, 2020 Appliance: Model JENNAIR Glass cooktop ap6016989 My wife left the burner on and accidentally put an old Tupperware lid on the burner and didn't turn the burner off. We were eating in the living room and all of a sudden heard a loud crack from the kitchen. The glass was cracked and part of it melted. The Jenn Air is 14 years old so we looked at the prices of the new downdraft stove oven combinations. $3-4 thousand dollars so I looked on the internet and found your company. Gave the customer service rep the numbers and they gave me the price. She recommended the glass cleaner which I bought. I suggest you also recommend a screw kit for the burners underneath the glass. Some were stripped when I reinstalled and had to substitute. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
