Anthony Y Kaneohe , HI October 11, 2014 Appliance: Kenmore Electric Dryer 11082824102 Motor would not start when start button pressed for one second lights up and hear motor solenoid click but no start Checked thermal fuse, belt pulley switch, door switch, and motor windings (primary 2.3 ohms start 2,2 ohms). Called Appliance Pros, told them my problem. They said that it appears to be the motor even though the ohm readings seam Ok and that I could return the motor if it was not the problem. I ordred the motor and blower wheel. Installed the new motor and everything worked! The only difficult part was that the motor blower had to be chiseled out. I couldn't get the motor out without disconnecting the blower wheel so I had to break it off using a chisel because it wouldn't loosen. 10 yr old dryer. Cleaned out a ton of lint inside the dryer and old motor. Too much lint build up in the motor likely damaged it. Steven B Vashon , WA October 21, 2016 Dryer motor (front loader) hummed but didn't have enough power to spin the drum Replaced the motor. Removal of the old motor was straightforward except that the fan was stuck to the motor shaft. Had to destroy the fan to remove it; good, on-line instructions for solving that problem. With new fan and new motor, replacement was easy. If I had to do it again, or on another, similar machine, it would take less than half the time.
