Aaron B Jacksonville , FL February 01, 2015 Appliance: Maytag 30" Electric Built-In Downdraft Grill JED7430AAB14 Right burner had cracked and was inop Good info on the webpage. Took me about one hour to repair which is longer than expected but that included cleaning up the pans and rock which was overdue. Here is the process: 1)Turn off breaker and verify no power; 2) remove cooking grates, rocks, and steel grates from both sides (for access and weight reduction); 3) remove a total of 10 Phillips screws from inside the pans on both sides (8) and the temp control knob box; 4) Now you can raise the pan so you can access the nuts from the element on the inside; 5) remove (2) nuts with 5/16 wrench being careful not to drop the nuts; 6) remove wiring clips from temp console; 7) remove old burner and replace with new ensuring to also attach green ground wire when reinstalling; 8) Run wiring and reconnect to temp control; 9) Do a quick check that element works before reinstalling all parts--be careful it gets hot and stays hot for a while so let cool down after check ;10) reinstall screws, steel grates, rocks, etc., in reverse order; 11) Cleanup and enjoy your steak that will be cooked to perfection. James K Greeley , CO June 27, 2022 Appliance: Model JED7430AAB OUTDOOR GRILL Thought it had element burned out, but was the wire (red-line load) that burned up. I cut the lines and had new wire; to wire nut together. Replaced the left burner (Calrod), but it didn't need it. Remove eight screws from the drip tray and Calrod is easy to access and replace. Knobs and filters were easy. Took most of the time to troubleshoot. Need meter with a continuity tester. Read More...
