Charles P Marietta , OH September 13, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Free Standing Electric Range GR448LXPB0 Burned out element on ceramic top range Turned off power supply. Removed two screws (near the oven door) holding the ceramic top. Slid the top forward, disengaged the two power supply cables, and removed one ground wire. Removed range top, and put on a flat surface. Unclamped two power supply wires, one ground wire and one thermocouple wire from the element. Unscrewed the bracket from the element, and remove the element from the range top. Remove the two clamps from the old element, and put them on the new element at the same numbered locations as the old. Put the new element on the top, and screwed the bracket to the new element. Clamped-on the three electrical wires, and the one thermocouple wire. Put the top back on the range, attached the ground wire, and the two power supply cables. Secured the top to the range with the two screws. Turned on the power supply to the range. Job done. Darwin M Havertown , PA February 22, 2017 I had a burnt out element in my glass top stove I never took a glass top stove apart before, but had to repair the burnt out element. i remove the stove top and took it apart exposing the elements. removed the old element, took the mounting clips off it and installed them on the new element. I then marked the old elements wire locations and wired the new element using my markings as a guide. Reassembled the stove top then mounted it back on the stove. I then turned the burner on and put it through the cycles to ensure it was operating properly.I wanted to make sure the thermostat was operating at the different temperature settings. Ed S Waynesville , OH September 25, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Slide-In Electric Range JES9800BAS18 Left front element on glass top stove failed Replaced the element which required a fair amount of work to remove the glass top from the unit and swap out the old element for the new one. Found several very good videos on line detailing the general procedure. Obviously not all ranges are built alike but there was enough good information to get me started.
