Lawrence P Mount Laurel , NJ September 09, 2014 Appliance: Jenn-Air Refrigerator JCD2389GES The ice auger broke off and fractured the back panel of the ice bin The removal of the ice bin and auger motor was easy but removing the auger from the shaft was another story. The auger was frozen to the shaft even after it sat out overnight. I carefully applied heat with a propane torch, directly on joint of the auger and the tip of the shaft, followed by a few drops of cold water. Once the shaft and auger cooled the auger separated easily. Putting the components back together was simple taking about ten more minutes. John D Orchard Park , NY November 04, 2020 Appliance: Jenn-Air Refrigerator JCD2389GEW The ice maker was leaking causing a big ice block to build up in the ice tray in addition the housing that holds the motor that drives the automatic dispenser had broken and therefore the dispense I replaced both the ice bucket housing and the icemaker. The job was very easy and only required a socket screwdriver to uninstall the old broken parts and install the new parts. The videos to demonstrate how to do this were very helpful and very straightforward. One thing that was significant to me was that you do not need to seal the tube that delivers water to the icemaker. The water just flows in from an unsealed tube. This means you don't have to worry about the water leaking from the water supply. There is no seal needed and therefore no seal to leak. The new icemaker does not leak and the dispenser works again.
