Lawrence P Mount Laurel , NJ September 09, 2014 Appliance: Jenn-Air Refrigerator JCD2389GES The ice auger broke off and fractured the back panel of the ice bin The removal of the ice bin and auger motor was easy but removing the auger from the shaft was another story. The auger was frozen to the shaft even after it sat out overnight. I carefully applied heat with a propane torch, directly on joint of the auger and the tip of the shaft, followed by a few drops of cold water. Once the shaft and auger cooled the auger separated easily. Putting the components back together was simple taking about ten more minutes. They arrived in very rapid time. Watched the video on how to replace on the AppliancePartsPros.com. Very helpful! Richard S Sarasota , FL September 19, 2014 Ice enclosure broke at the ice auger motor attach point Unscrewed the motor from the enclosure. Removed one screw holding the enclosure to the refrigerator. Put in the new enclosure and attached the motor to the enclosure. Pretty straight forward and simple. Note: the blade on the motor that turns the ice auger must first be removed from the motor before you can attach the motor to the enclosure. The blade screws off the motor but you must use some sort of tool (screwdriver) to keep the motor shaft from turning. Once the motor is attched to the enclosure then screw the blade back on. Total time no more than 30 minutes. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
