I pulled out the old housing and unplugged the motor. It pretty much came out in pieces.
Remove the plastic from the motor, then had to take a pair of vice grips to hold the spindle in place to remove the auger. Remove what was still attached to the old Housing. Cleaned everything up and put the whole unit back together. The motor looked like it was somewhat cooked but still worked, so I ordered a new motor and auger to replace it. Because this fridge is 24 yrs old, Appliancepartspros had one and might not next week. Everything is back together and the ice maker is working again.
Should have been like a 30 minute job, but there was a lot of cleanup.
