Eran G Summit , NJ November 22, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator AFF2534FEW11 The cover of the pantry drawer did not open due to a broken end cap pin All you need is a nut driver. The end cap is attached to the side of the refrigerator cabinet with two long screws. Once you remove them, you should slide the end cap towards you. It will release the internal clip that holds the front of the end cap. You should then unscrew the metal slider from the end cap. Assembly of the new end cap is the reverse. You should first attach the metal slider to the new end cap. Attaching the new end cap to side of the refrigerator cabinet is a little tricky. You should first align the bottom of the new end cap with the bottom of the refrigerator's cabinet, make the end cap flush with the side of the cabinet, and then slide it towards the back of the refrigerator. The internal clip on the front of the end cap should match the corresponding piece on the side of the refrigerator. Pushing it back will lock the end cap in place. You should ensure that the two tabs at the back of the end piece should be fully inserted into the holes in the back of the refrigerator. The end cap should be flush with the side of the refrigerator and stay in place without any screws. There should be no gap between the end cap and the side of the cabinet. You should compare it to the end piece in the opposite side to make sure. You should then screw the two long screws and you are done. Total time including removal of the vegetable drawers and the glass shelf, removing the pantry drawer, removing the end cap, installing the new end cap, installing the pantry drawer, glass shelf, and vegetable drawers is about 10 minutes. Note that you probably do not need new screws. However, if your refrigerator is older than a few years, the screws may become a little rusted, and you should replace them. My experience is that 10 years old screws become rusted, but 5 years old screws are still good. You can find the part numbers for the screw in the corresponding parts diagram. The end cap is held by two long screws, and the pantry drawer slider is held by two short screws. David T Madison , WI February 01, 2019 Broken deli tray support/end cap and kick plate/grill First of all, I called your customer service line with a question about navigating your parts web site... I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me because she was very good at her job. She was obviously well trained and experienced as she very quickly helped me to better understand how to navigate the site, and find the parts required... Secondly, whoever designed and built your self-help parts search tool did an amazing job. Given the scope and complexity of cataloging obviously thousands of individual parts for hundreds/thousands? of appliances and their associated exploded views...wow, not easy, but I found the parts I needed in just a few minutes... I've designed and built web sites, but nothing as complex, and again, whoever is responsible did an excellent job. Thirdly, placing the order was easy and quick. I opted for the cheapest delivery time (5-7 days?)... My parts showed up on my porch, in excellent shape ONE DAY AFTER I placed the order. This tells me that your supply side/back end is as equally efficient as your front end services... Parts ordered were perfect replacements and installation took 30 minutes...my wife was impressed...not easy to do... I hope it sounds like I was impressed because I was. I managed large IT help desks for 30 years, and I know that providing direct customer services is not easy... Besides your first/second level support staff, thanks has to go as well to your leadership...it really does start at the top. I hope you have a way to share my comments with your staff, and forward my appreciation to them for their attention to detail, expertise, and hard work. Jim M Portland , OR September 28, 2025 Appliance: Kenmore Refrigerator 59678579804 Broken refridgerator interior plastic parts causing issues Looked up parts based on fridge model number, watched videos, and replaced parts using just a few tools... easy. Parts came quick, well packaged. After 16 years, plastic parts deteriorate and break. The fridge was operating fine, but the drawers and covers were failing. Much cheaper to replace a few parts ($$-$$$) than buy a new fridge ($$$$). The new parts matched up exactly to old ones. The videos were very helpful, but not perfect... for the Crisper Frame, there was a structural metal channel in the old frame that I removed and inserted into the new frame but which wasn't covered in the video. In another case, the head of the repairman blocked the view of how he was reattaching the Pantry Endcap temp control rods and parts, a step I was having trouble trying to do without breaking the plastic parts. BUT, there were tricks to doing the work the videos covered very well that were not otherwise obvious... why most people would just call a serviceman and pay a few hundred dollars more. The videos show working on a new clean refrigerator, and working quickly. Mine was not clean. Between very carefully and slowly removing, cleaning and replacing the (irreplaceable) glass shelves, and washing the old parts and interior of the fridge, the job took a lot longer for me. But I had no issues doing the work... simple tasks *if* you know the "secrets" for doing the work. After disassembly, I also discovered other broken parts, which I purchased in a second order... not sure how to get around that unless you first take everything apart and put it back together before ordering. Gerald R Jasper , GA March 08, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2569VEB2 Broken hinge on end cap. I have two left thumbs as a DIY-er. However, I followed the instructions someone left online and was able to do the job right the first time. Removing, cleaning, and re-installing the shelves and drawers took more time than the part replacement.
